Geotextile is used at all the mining ponds, 

on the slope of the Evaporating Pond, Geotextile is placed protecting the PVC Geomembrane. The impervious membrane lays over geotextile which is placed directly against the soil so the PVC liner it is “sandwiched” to be protected from eventual puncture damage. 

on the bottom of  Evaporating Ponds, to protect the PVC liner that is used to hold the brine for preventing leakage and corrosion
